Welcome to the Vikings Rugby Club, a vibrant and welcoming community where young athletes from all communities east of Calgary between the ages 7 to 18 can thrive and grow. The Vikings are more than just a team - we're a family dedicated to nurturing talent and fostering a love for the game.
In 2024 we had nine players selected to represent Big Country Storm at the Alberta Regional Championships with two moving onto the Alberta Provincial Team. Our experienced coaches are committed to providing "A Game for Every Body" and helping you achieve your goals and have fun in the process. Join us for an unforgettable journey of skill development, teamwork, and fun-filled rugby experiences!

U7 & U9 Program:
Boys and girls born in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019
5 Week Spring Program + 4 Week Late Summer Program
Alternating from St Gabriel’s, Chestermere and Westmount School, Strathmore
6:30 pm - 7:30 pm, late summer TBA
Focused on skills development and gameplay, non-contact.
U11 Program:
Boys and girls born in 2014 and 2015
Introduction to Contact
Practice Tuesday & Thursday 6:00 pm-7:30 pm, alternating between St Gabriels in Chestermere & Westmount School in Strathmore
Festival Format Games usually played Saturday morning
Outdoor practice starts in late March / Early April
Games usually start at the end of April – Spring season finishes at the end of June
No Cuts – No Try Outs

Boys and girls born in 2012 and 2013
Boys 13 aside, girls 7 aside
Training is Tuesdays & Thursdays, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm alternating between St Gabriels in Chestermere & Westmount School in Strathmore

The Vikings Rugby Club is a participant in the Kidsport Alberta program.
Kidsport provides grants to help cover the costs of registration fees, as well as providing no-cost equipment so that all kids aged 18 and under in Calgary & Area can play a season of sport.
The Calgary & Area chapter accepts applications and administers grants of up to $500 per child/year, for kids who live in Calgary & Area. If you live outside of Calgary & Area please click on the chapter list to find your local chapter.
