Brown Bear Craft with Chestermere Playschool

This cute bear craft from the Chestermere Community Playschool is based on the book “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?” By Eric Carle.  This craft gives kids the opportunity to practice following directions when they look at the pictures in the book and colour their animals to match.

For this craft you’ll need a brown paper bag, construction paper in the colours of your choice to make a bear, crayons or markers, scissors for cutting, and glue to put it all together.  You can use googly eyes and a pom pom nose for your bear if you have them, or make your own using paper.  You can print the animal colouring page to colour and attach to the bag, or you can make your own.

Step 1
- Read the book “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do you See?” by Eric Carle.

Step 2 -  Make your bear face using construction paper.

Step 3 - Colour the animals using the book as a guide.  If you don’t have the book, you can follow the colours on the printable.

Step 4 - Glue the bear head to the top of the bag (like you’re making a puppet) and glue the colouring sheet with the animals below
